Today's car of the day comes from jedimario's collection, and is Tomica's 2014 Toyota Voxy.

Wikipedia

The Toyota Noah is a seven or eight-seater MPV with two rear sliding doors built by Toyota and sold in Asia and Africa. A five-seater version without the third seat row is available. Its predecessor was the Toyota LiteAce Noah. The Noah has two twin versions, named Toyota Voxy and Toyota Esquire. The Noah is exclusive to Toyota Corolla Store Japanese dealerships, the Voxy to Toyota Netz, and the Esquire to Toyopet Store. The Third Generation Toyota Noah was introduced in January 2014 bringing in a new design language, new safety systems, new interior, and for the first time an engine start stop system to improve fuel economy.

This week's COTD cars are courtesy of jedimario (and ten years ago, May 16 was a Sunday, and kicked off a week's worth of jedimario's cars for COTD). While the Toyota Noah and Voxy are twins, differing mildly in front end styling, Tomica elected to make models of both. They share the same baseplate, which has the model name printed in white tampo print, rather than cast, so each model can be properly named. The remaining triplet, the Toyota Esquire, has not been made by Tomica (or any other small scale diecast company).

Wikipedia

The Noah is Toyota's medium range MPV, between the Sienta and the Estima. Like its rivals the Nissan Serena and Honda Stepwgn this family MPV (minivan) is aimed at families with children rather than for chauffeur business, for which the Alphard/Vellfire is marketed. Hong Kong is Toyota's other major market for the Noah. The 2014 Noah introduces a new more aggressive front and rear bumpers and redesigned head lights. The interior incorporates side window blinds and various other comforts such as many adjustments for the middle row captain seats. Furthermore, it is also the first Toyota MPV to have one-touch sliding doors. The Noah/Voxy/Esquire also receives Toyota's T-Connect services including a 10 inch infotainment display, with full navigation, ETC unit, online services, wireless phone charger, Noah Panoramic Live Sound System (eight speakers), rear parking camera with guidance lines, USB/AUX inputs as well as Toyota Safety Sense C which incorporates features such as collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, as well as high beam assist.

This one looks a lot like the white Tomica van on COTD recently. I think the black hides some of the details, but overall, I like

 Since minivans are so common these days, it is nice to see the variety of them offered in small scale diecast. Neat that Tomica offers both the Voxy and Noah versions of the van.

The Voxy is BOXY! But then that seems to be the trend in vans/minivans nowadays. I have a few minivans in my collection but none from Japan: Matchbox and Hot Wheels versions of the Dodge Caravan and a couple different decos of the Hot Wheels Lumina APV. I think this is my favorite of the vans shown so far this week but I don't think I'm going to rush out to find any of them - they're just not in my wheelhouse.

Nothing good ever happens after midnight.
So...if a soccer mom were to drive one, would that make her a Voxy lady????

(Asking for a friend. )
