This started life as a Johnny Lightning Classic Gold casting that I accidentally broke the tailgate of. Cut the base to length, after removing the bed, and put this M2 tow truck body on it. It has been weathered all around as well. I've wanted to build a custom cornbinder for a while now, and this was a fun build.

Super looking custom cornbinder wrecker Chris. Kind of similar to the one a garage back home used for many, many years except the one they had was an early '50's cab.

Reminds me a lot of the late '70s Chevy my mechanic uses. With so many towing companies in my area now, I don't think he's used it in years.

Great job!

The one thing that is somewhat depressing is the complete lack of Holmes bodies with the iconic dual swing-out booms in 1/64. There's the 1/50 Corgi Holmes Power Wrecker, and Tomica's 1/98 scale Holmes 850 "American Wrecker" on a Peterbilt, but that's it. With the Durastar Miller promo some years back, maybe Greenlight SD Trucks will have a heavy vintage Holmes wrecker in it. At least this M2 body is roughly representative of a 1950s Holmes, but the boom isn't.

That turned out great- breaking the tailgate really worked out in the end...

Thanks, Cody, Sam & Diomakr!

Cody, the M2 COE wrecker body is kind of close to a Holmes. Hopefully GL, M2 or even AW will make some licensed or near-copy Holmes wreckers someday.

Diomakr, yes it did. I glued my yellow one's tailgate shut as a result of this...
